Find all the information you need to enjoy outdoor adventures in nature.
This guide will help you navigate your next fishing trip.

No. Fishbuddy is a completely new app built from the ground up with new technology. It offers more species, more advanced maps, AI-based tools, AR-powered measurement, and a user-driven approach to data collection.

Fiskher and Fishbuddy are separate apps with different systems, and subscriptions cannot be transferred between them.

No, unfortunately this is not possible. Apple and Google do not allow purchases from one app to be transferred to another.
We recommend waiting until your Fiskher subscription expires, and then starting with Fishbuddy, using the 3-day free Premium trial.
If you’re having technical issues with your Fiskher subscription, feel free to contact us at post@fishbuddy.app.

In most cases, the issue is resolved by:
  1. Deleting the app
  2. Reinstalling it
  3. Logging in with the same account
You do not need to pay again – both Apple and Google recognize past purchases. If you are charged twice, you can request a refund directly through their platforms.
We are happy to assist if you need help with this process.
Subscriptions must be cancelled directly through the platform where you purchased the app:
We do not have access to your subscription and cannot cancel it for you.

This usually happens when users believe they’ve cancelled their subscription within the app interface, but only cancellations made via the phone’s subscription settings (App Store or Google Play) are valid.
Check your device’s active subscriptions, and contact us if anything seems unclear.

Our AI-based recognition system is thoroughly tested and very accurate, but good results require a proper image. Follow these tips:
  1. Avoid direct sunlight – use shade if needed
  2. Use a neutral background – avoid grass, rocks, or busy patterns
  3. Take a photo of a real fish – not from a screen or magazine
If the correct species appears in the list, tap Confirm – this helps train the AI and improve results.

Fishbuddy uses augmented reality (AR) to automatically measure the length of your fish and estimate weight. Just follow the on-screen instructions.
You’ll also find tutorial videos for iPhone and Android under the “Measurement Tool” section in the app and on our website.

Fishbuddy gives you access to over one million fishing spots across lakes, rivers, and coastal waters.
The locations are based on local expert knowledge, satellite and depth data, and AI analysis. You can search by species or water type to find areas that match your preferences.

The app follows your device’s default language settings. Fishbuddy is currently available in:
  • English
  • Norwegian
  • German
